“You just can’t help but laugh – it’s just so (expletive) stupid. They’re not used to doing that in front of people. That’s something most actresses are only used to doing in one particular context.
But on cable, you make believe you’re really having sex. On a network show, you don’t do humping movements. “The weirdest part of doing a sex scene isn’t the nudity. So ‘Banshee’ was obviously a whole different ballgame. Nobody wants to see anything on network TV. And it looks like your shirt’s off, but (it’s just) the sheets are pulled up to your armpits. “On a network TV show, when you’re doing a sex scene, you don’t really do anything. And since it’s always interesting to hear how actors feel about awkward actor-y stuff like this, we’re including her thoughts on the subject: In a separate interview with the Observer late last year, Dunn spoke about getting naked for the show – which she did repeatedly, starting in Season 2 – and about her sex scenes with Antony Starr.
“When you sign up for a TV show, it’s like a lottery if you even get to go to a second season,” she says, “so I still felt incredibly grateful to have been able to do nearly three seasons of a show.” (Dunn shot six episodes each on NBC’s “Believe” in 2014, CBS’s “Golden Boy” in 2013 and Fox’s “Canterbury’s Law” in 2008.)
But that’s just ‘Banshee.’ We’ve joked about how at the end of the very last episode of ‘Banshee,’ basically every single person will be dead.”ĭunn says she will appear in “a couple more episodes,” presumably in flashbacks or hallucinations of Hood’s, before the Season 3 finale in March.īy then, she will have been listed as a cast regular in a total of nearly 30 installments of the premium cable channel’s original series, besting her longest run on a TV series by close to two dozen episodes. “By the end of Season 2 pretty much, the (writers) had a plan for her. “We shot it last summer, but I knew well before – I knew almost a year earlier,” says Dunn, 34, a 2004 graduate of UNCSA. Though her death came as an enormous shock to fans, Dunn had known this day was imminent for a long time.
